Mass Lottery Online: the July 2026 iLottery launch

After two years of delays, Mass Lottery Online went live in late July 2026. The platform sells online scratch-style instant games, exclusive digital numbers games, and online entry to home-state draw games — Megabucks and Mass Cash among them — to players 18+ physically inside Massachusetts, with the same geolocation checks every official state platform uses. Officials expect the platform to add roughly $70 million a year for local aid. Taxes on Massachusetts Lottery prizes

Massachusetts withholds 5% state tax on lottery prizes above $600 — a lower threshold than most states use — alongside the standard 24% federal withholding on prizes over $5,000.
