The next Australian Powerball draw is on the next Thursday evening, at about 8:30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), and ticket sales close an hour earlier, at 7:30 pm AEST, according to the operator's published times. That is 11:30 am in the UK, 4:00 pm in India and 6:30 pm in the Philippines while the UK is on summer time. There is one Australian Powerball draw a week.

Australian Powerball draw day: every Thursday

Australian Powerball is drawn once a week, on Thursday, for the Lott (Tabcorp) and its partner Lotterywest in Western Australia. Seven winning numbers come from a barrel of 35, then one Powerball from a separate barrel of 20. The Lott says many of its draws, Australian Powerball included, are shown on 7TWO at approximately 8:30 pm AEST, and that results for most games are generally available by about 9:00 pm AEST. There is no Australian Powerball draw on any other day, so a missed Thursday means a wait of seven days. It is a different game from the American one, which is drawn three nights a week.

What time is the Australian Powerball draw in your country?

The Lott publishes its lottery times in AEST (UTC+10) all year, including while Sydney and Melbourne are on daylight saving. That makes the draw 10:30 UTC on every Thursday of the year, so the clock time in your country only changes when your own country changes its clocks.

The UK moves from BST to GMT on the last Sunday of October (25 October in 2026), and the US moves from EDT to EST on the first Sunday of November (1 November in 2026). Sydney and Melbourne are on daylight saving from the first Sunday of October to the first Sunday of April, so in summer their Thursday-evening clock reads an hour later than the AEST times above.

Australian Powerball ticket deadline: sales close at 7:30 pm AEST

Entries for the Thursday draw close at 7:30 pm AEST at the Lott. Lotterywest in Western Australia closes at 6:00 pm AWST, which is 30 minutes later in absolute time because Western Australia is on UTC+8 all year. These are the cut-offs in your country:

Other sellers can close earlier than the Lott, so the deadline that counts is the one on the checkout page where you buy. If you order through a lottery courier, the ticket has to be bought in Australia and scanned to your account before the cut-off, so treat Thursday morning in Australia as your real deadline and order the day before if you can.

Our Australian Powerball guide sets out the 7 from 35 plus 1 from 20 format, the nine prize divisions and the odds. Division 1 is 1 in 134,490,400 per game, and about 1 in 44 for a prize of any kind, according to that guide. The Division 1 pool is shared between winners and rolls over to the next Thursday when nobody matches all seven numbers and the Powerball.
