A Coon Rapids Ticket Wins the $34.12 Million Lotto America Jackpot - a Minnesota Record

It only took one ticket. In the Lotto America drawing on Saturday, July 18, 2026, a single ticket sold in Minnesota matched all six numbers - 13, 17, 22, 28 and 40, plus the Star Ball of 3 - to land the game's $34.12 million jackpot. The winner can collect the full amount as an annuity paid over 29 years or take a one-time lump sum of $15.15 million, both figures before taxes.

The Minnesota Lottery says it is the largest Lotto America jackpot ever won in the state. The winning ticket was bought at a Holiday store on Coon Rapids Boulevard in Coon Rapids, which earns a $10,000 bonus for selling it. 'This is an exciting and historic moment for Minnesota Lottery players,' said Minnesota Lottery Executive Director Adam Prock, who described a jackpot of this size as a source of excitement across the state.

The win snapped a long dry spell for the game. Lotto America's top prize had gone unclaimed since a ticket in South Dakota hit a $4.01 million jackpot on August 6, 2025, letting the prize climb steadily over nearly a year of drawings. With the jackpot finally landed, it resets to $2 million for the next draw.

The jackpot winner was not the only one celebrating. A second Minnesota player matched the first five numbers to win $20,000, and for the first time the state recorded winners in all nine of Lotto America's prize tiers in a single drawing. More than 76,000 players across all participating states won something in the draw. Lotto America shares Powerball's Monday, Wednesday and Saturday draw nights but uses a smaller field of numbers, offering better odds at a smaller top prize.
